As we power through another week, HYPEBEAST has rounded up a carefully curated list of Music Projects You Missed This Week.

This selection includes a trio of collaborations from Big Sean, Fivio Foreign and Hit-Boy, femdot. and Saba, Loski and Stormzy, and Open Mike Eagle and Video Dave, plus new EPs from Masego and Sango. The LVRN label, comprised of the likes of 6LACK and Summer Walker, is also spreading yuletide cheer with their holiday album.


Big Sean x Fivio Foreign x Hit-Boy – “SALUTE”

Hit-Boy has partnered up once again with Big Sean for the Fivio Foreign-assisted cut, “SALUTE.” The high-energy track hears the two rappers boast about their high-profile careers after clawing their way to the top, letting the others know that a respectful salute should be required when they see them.

Loski x Stormzy – “Flavour”

Armed with a catchy chorus and a lowkey beat, Loski enlisted Stormzy for his latest single “Flavour.” The track’s accompanying visual sees the English MCs driving around and delivering their own branded ice cream to a wide range of clientele, making some pretty good money from the operation.

Masego - Studying Abroad

Masego is undeniably one of the most exciting artists of modern times, and he’s sonically exploring uncharted territory on his latest project, Studying Abroad. The 27-year-old chronicles the phases of a relationship in the six-track project and enlists Don Toliver and Shenseea for help, adding another layer to the EP’s international palette of sounds and styles.

femdot. x Saba – “Lifetime”

Saba joined fellow Chicago native femdot. for “Lifetime,” a cut that appears on the latter’s Buy One, Get One Free Vol. 1 project. The pair reflects on the social and political climate they grew up in, and understand that they have to do good in their lifetimes so the future generation will have it better than they did.

Sango - SHANGO

Previously teased in October 2020, Sango’s mixtape SHANGO is a collection of samples the producer picked up from 20 different countries in Africa. He revealed on Twitter that he actually had around 54 samples from countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia and Guinea Bissau, but ultimately decided to cut it down to 17.

LoveRenaissance - Home for the Holidays

Record label LoveRenaissance is spreading some holiday cheer with their seasonal compilation album, Home for the Holidays. The 9-track project includes contributions from label signees like 6LACK, Summer Walker, Shelley FKA DRAM, Kitty Ca$h, Eli Derby, Young Rog and OMB Bloodbath, and delivers both original Christmas tunes and orthodox twists on traditional carols.

Open Mike Eagle x Video Dave – “Headass (Idiot Shinji)”

The visual for Open Mike Eagle and Video Dave’s Anime, Trauma and Divorce collab “Headass (Idiot Shinji)” sees them and comedian Jak Knight lead an informercial on the meaning of “headass” — literally and figuratively.
