ARKET and Morjas Put a Scandi Spin on the Loafer
It’s an all-Swedish affair.
For its Fall/Winter 2020 collection, Swedish label ARKET put Nordic traditions at the forefront by focusing mainly on both simplicity and function. In-keeping with the scandinavian theme, the label has now linked up with fellow Swedes Morjas for a limited-edition footwear release.
Sharing an appreciation for archetypal design and contemporary aesthetics, the brands have teamed up to develop their own interpretation of one of the icons of modern footwear: the penny loafer.
Handcrafted in Almansa, Spain — a region with a tradition of shoemaking dating back to the 18th century — each pair has been produced using 128 individual steps. Made using tonal black leather designed to age over time, the shoes are a distinct yet versatile style that suit both formal and casual occasions.
The ARKET x Morjas Penny Loafer is set to drop on October 1 at www.arket.com.
