Kanye Announces He's Giving G.O.O.D. Music Artists Back Their Masters
Claiming he owns 50 percent of tracks.
Continuing to stay active on Twitter, Kanye West followed up a look at the adidas YEEZY 2020 footwear with a bold new claim. Serving as the latest in his ongoing battle against Universal Music and Sony, ‘Ye looked to promote change in the music industry by announced he will return his share of G.O.O.D. Music artists’ masters.
In his tweet, the controversial artist suggested that he owns 50 percent of recordings, but it is unclear how the remaining half is divided. If Kanye makes good on his announcement former G.O.O.D. artists like John Legend, Common, Kid Cudi, Consequence and Mos Def would regain a portion of the music they have released under the label. Kanye could also be forfeiting a sizeable sum of money generated by currently signed artists Big Sean, Pusha-T, Teyana Taylor, Valee, Francis and the Lights and more. Changing gears, the music and fashion figure also decided to make his bid for executive board positions at both Gap and adidas.
