Audi has lifted the covers off its 2022 S3 range, unveiling the latest styling and performance tweaks to both the Sportback and Sedan models.

The much-preferred Sportback receives more aggressive styling and more power, making it a worthy competitor in the hot hatchback field. In both styles, the S3 is now powered by a two-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 310 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque (up from the previous generation’s 288 HP and 280 lb-ft), and puts this down on the tarmac thanks to Audi’s tried-and-tested Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

0 to 62 MPH is achieved in just 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 155 MPH. And unlike its big brother — the RS3 — this new model isn’t all about speed. Instead, Audi has put a bigger focus on handling by lowering the suspension by half an inch in comparison to the standard A3, adding speed-sensitive steering, and by updating the brakes.

Styling has also been tweaked, giving the S3 much more stance and aggression. Although not as menacing as the RS3, the S3 does now come with a blacked-out grille, a chiseled front bumper with big air intakes, a new rear diffuser that nestles four ovular tailpipes in its design, and a new rear spoiler too.

The Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan are on sale throughout Europe now for approximately $54,600 USD and $55,700 USD, respectively. The Sedan is expected to come to the U.S. soon, while word on the Sportback coming stateside is still out. Take a closer look at the new models above.
