Going after the Canadian artist.

After Drake seemingly took shots at Mavado on his “Only You Freestyle” with Headie One, the dancehall icon accused Drake of appropriating dancehall on his new track, “Enemy Line.”

The single goes after the Canadian artist’s “tough guy attitude” and claims that he wishes he was Jamaican. The feud reportedly started when Drake referenced Popcaan, someone Mavado has beefed with, on “Only You Freestyle” and Mavado’s hometown of Cassava Piece in Kingston, Jamaica. Many note that the lyrics call back to the Gully/Gaza dancehall feud, which saw Vybz Kartel and Mavado clash on a variety of topics.

To make his message clear, Mavado also went on Instagram to share a post about his new single and say, “You are not from Dancehall/You have no Power in Dancehall n everybody know who introduce you to Dancehall so don’t feel like you can come disrespect Gully take that out you brain n don’t dweet again.”
