Disclosure Taps Aminé and slowthai for New Single "My High"
From the brother’s new album ‘ENERGY’ out this August.
Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, better known as GRAMMY-nominated producing duo Disclosure, returned with their first official visual in over a half-decade with “ENERGY”, the title track to their upcoming album due out August 28 via Capitol Records. Today they tap Aminé and slowthai for the follow-up, “My High,” a kinetic, uptempo sonic and visual experience following an injured protagonist on a hospital gurney and his chaotic trip being wheeled around a city.
“We always wanted to work with rappers, we just didn’t know any and we had no means of contacting them… there aren’t a lot of rappers in Reigate,” Disclosure detailed in a recent press statement. “Writing ‘My High’ with Aminé was a lot a fun, he’s hilarious and may as well be a comedian. He writes so quickly and it’s amazing to watch. He brought so much energy to this already very energetic tune that when we got home to London in January, there was only one guy capable of matching it… slowthai.”
ENERGY will also enlist Mick Jenkins, Channel Tres, Common, Kelis, Fatoumata Diawara, Kehlani and Syd for contributions. Earlier this year, the duo released their impromptu Ecstasy EP and another high-profile collaboration with Khalid, “Know Your Worth”.
