The Berrics' 'The Grand Tour' Series Heads to Steve Caballero's House
With the legendary skateboarder showing off a jaw-dropping collection of rare memorabilia.
Legendary pro skater and Bones Brigade OG Steve Caballero recently invited The Berrics into his California home for a The Grand Tour video. With over 40 years of pro skateboarding under his belt, Caballero has culled a veritable treasure trove of memorabilia and amassed several amusing anecdotes — both of which he shares with the video team while showing them around his home.
Hobbled but cheerful, Caballero digs into his extensive collection, consisting of everything from original Glenn Friedman photographs to Lance Mountain paintings and even the design sketch for one of his Vans signature models, the Cab 5.
Caballero then tells the story of a re-created Powell-Peralta Bones Brigade deck, based off an original that he had in 1980. Only six copies of the deck were produced, and one was owned by another Bones Brigade member: a teenage Tony Hawk.
There’s video games too, with Caballero riffing on how he came to possess an original copy of Atari‘s 720 arcade game, with high scores on his machine held by Corey O’Brien and Jeff Kendall. Lastly, Cab digs into his vinyl toys, stating that the outfit on one of them served as inspiration for his garb in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2.
