Pitti Uomo has become the latest major fashion event to be disrupted by the outbreak of COVID-19. The Florence-based trade show — which was due to take place in June — has now been postponed, and will instead run from September 2 until September 4.

The postponement was announced in a statement from the Board of Directors of Pitti Imagine, which explained that the decision has been reached “considering the evolution of the health emergency in Italy and around the world and in light of the concrete prospects of an extension to the restrictive measures concerning production and commercial activities and the movement of people.”

Pitti Uomo’s postponement comes a week after London and Paris Men’s Fashion Weeks, as well as Paris Couture Week, were cancelled. Additionally, Milan Men’s Fashion Week has been postponed from June to September to coincide with the city’s womenswear week.
