HOMME PLISSÉ Issey Miyake is back with its latest statement piece from its Spring/Summer 2020 collection — meticulously crafted Action Painting Coats in three distinctive colorways. The bold pieces follow a pleated double-breasted shawl released last month.
Coming in green, blue and yellow, the garments are emblazoned with an artful pattern of painterly two-toned streaks. The silhouette boasts a drapey, elongated fit, cut with dropped shoulders, oversized sleeves, and wide lapels. Most of the coat is embellished with the patterns, covering the upper collars, upper body, three-quarter-length sleeves, and waist, ending slightly before the hemline. Contrasting the colorful prints, the lower end of the piece is kept clean and minimal in a creamy-ivory palette, while the silhouette’s reinforced hemline and pleated construction complete its eye-catching design.
