Ball Watch has just released a new Engineer Hydrocarbon Original watch that utilizes its self-powered micro gas H₃ lume in a new way. Rather than the customary glass tubes that are present in all its existing watches, this new Engineer Hydrocarbon Original opts for a design that is truly classic dive watch inspired.

Able to glow 100 times brighter than traditional lume paints, both the bezel and dial feature sealed micro tritium gas tubes placed behind them to achieve the desired plot shape. The watch is then powered by Ball Watch’s automatic caliber BALL RR1102-CSL movement which is COSC certified, is shock resistant to 7,500Gs, antimagnetic to 80,000A/m, and water-resistant to 200 meters.

The 40mm watch is completed with a Mu-metal shield, convex sapphire crystal glass, and patented Amortiser anti-shock system and crown protection system. Those interested in this robust mechanical watch can find it over at Ball Watch for approximately $3,000 USD.

In other watch news, IWC introduces it’s Big Pilot’s Watch in a smooth “Black Carbon” edition.
