Just days before he is set to make his return to the Octagon at UFC 246, combat sports superstar Conor McGregor sat down with MMA personality Ariel Helwani for a candid talk before he ends his 15-month absence.

Before touching on his upcoming fight with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at Welterweight, “The Notorious” discussed all the personal changes he has made and have come since his last fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor notes that his loss was due to a lack of serious preparation, revealing he was “drinking all bleeding fight week the last time” and having questionable gym wars ahead of the bout. Going on about the fight, McGregor revealed he banked $50 million USD for his loss and expected to make $80 million USD for his upcoming fight with Cerrone.

Moving on, the multi-weight UFC champion notes the birth of his second child and working with American author, life coach, and philanthropist, Tony Robbins, that has been part of the new path with his return to the UFC. Finally talking about UFC 246, McGregor surprisingly had no trash talk prepared for his opponent, simply stating a spat he and Cerrone had at a press conference. But the Irish fighter did guarantee fans an exciting performance while revealing his interest in the current state of the 170lb division, which he considers his new home.

Near the end of the interview, Helwani asks about a rematch with Floyd Mayweather following their high profile super-fight back in 2017. Not shying away, McGregor notes that he knows he could beat Mayweather in a rematch, but that he doesn’t think the match will become a reality. Also, revealing a verbal agreement made by the undefeated boxer regarding a mixed martial arts fight. Finally, McGregor touched on his interest in other boxing bouts while revealing some talks about a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
