Apple Announces $5,999 USD Redesigned Mac Pro

After over a year of teasing, Apple has finally introduced its redesigned stainless steel Mac Pro at WWDC. The steel frame and be unlocked and lifted to expose its internal parts to make upgrades easier.

It features a new Intel Xeon processor with 28 cores and support for 1.5 terabytes of RAM, eight PCIe expansion slots and Apple Afterburner, an accelerator card capable of playing back three streams of 8K ProRes RAW video. There’s two Ethernet ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, twp USB-A ports, and a headphone jack.

Although it’s not its default configuration, Apple will support up to two Radeon Pro Vega II GPUs. The Mac Pro has three fans and a blower that Apple says shouldn’t be any louder than the iMac Pro when it’s under load. It also has wheels for transportation and a 32-inch LCD display 6K Retina display made by Apple specifically.

Buy the base Mac Pro with an eight-core Xeon CPU, 32GB of memory, 256GB SSD and the Radeon Pro 580X graphics card starting at $5,999 USD when its available to order this fall.
