Best known as the creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld is also branching out into the art world with a new exhibit of his sculptures. Taking place at Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris, the exhibit — titled “Architectures” and developed in collaboration with architect Aline Asmar d’Amman — will feature marble tables, fountains and mirrors.

Lagerfeld’s sculptural work is inspired by antiquity, Greek architecture and the so-called “golden ratio.” Speaking about these influences, Lagerfeld described antiquity as the “origin of beauty, culture and modernity.”

All of the pieces in the monochrome collection of sculptures are carved from either rare white Arabescato fantastic marble, or black nero marquina marble. “Architectures” is open now, and the works will be displayed at Carpenters Workshop Gallery’s Paris location until December 23 this year.

In other art news, a new Do Ho Suh installation is coming to Denmark.
