Microsoft has introduced Project xCloud, which will allow gamers to play Xbox One titles on computers and mobile devices. According to Microsoft, game developers will be able to support the new service without any “additional work” and has “a new, game-specific touch input overlay” for gamers to play without the need of a controller. Users however can use an Xbox One controller via Bluetooth should they still desire to do so.

“Our goal with Project xCloud is to deliver a quality experience for all gamers on all devices that’s consistent with the speed and high-fidelity gamers experience and expect on their PCs and consoles,” the company said. As of now, Project xCloud supports 4G and 5G cellular networks and utilizes the company’s Azure cloud service as part of the stabilization process. Although it’s currently only being tested, xCloud is expected to go public next year.

In related news, Microsoft recently expanded its SURFACE brand with new updates.
