Mixing understated design with technical fabrics.

After releasing its “Heavy Duty Ivy” collection for Fall/Winter 2017, legendary Japanese label nanamica has now revealed its khaki-themed Spring/Summer 2018 line. This seasonal release aims to take the khaki aesthetic — which is normally associated with military and outdoors aesthetics — and reinterpret it for an “ocean scene.” To do this, the brand has mixed “minimal design with maximum functionality.”

Aside from the khaki pieces, the Spring/Summer 2018 drop also features a range of other colors, with basics such as beige, navy and black sitting alongside pops of orange, yellow and blue. This collection also sees the brand mix natural and technical synthetic materials, as well as different shades and textures, throughout.

Some of these technical materials include GORE-TEX, which is used on a cruiser jacket and a half-coat, and PERTEX, which was originally designed for sleeping-bags. Other key pieces from the brand include the “Soutien Collar Coat” which comes in a durable water-repellant polyester taffeta and the “Indigo Weather Series” which features a coach jacket, anorak and cropped pants.

There’s no news yet on when the collection is set to arrive at retailers, but keep checking back for more news. As well as finalizing the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, nanamica also recently took part in Garbstore’s “Our Hands” auction.
