According to Nike, this upper was one of the original colorways developed by the ISPA team during the period when the Mind technology was first being connected to a shoe silhouette. The Flyknit construction was already in development before the Mind 002 sole unit was paired with it, which means the upper has a longer and more layered origin than the standard Mind 002 build. When Hiroshi Fujiwara and fragment design later worked with Nike on the Mind 002 collab, this same Flyknit upper was what they used.
