Never doubt the dominance of the 6God. After sending shockwaves through the music industry with the surprise release of three simultaneous albums on Friday, Drake is once again rewriting the streaming history books. Dropping ICEMAN, Maid of Honour, and Habibti all at once, the rap titan steamrolled the competition, shattering multiple Spotify records in less than 24 hours and firmly cementing the biggest music moment of 2026 thus far.
According to Spotify, the unprecedented triple-album drop allowed Drake to easily become the most-streamed artist in a single day of 2026. The combined first-day streaming haul for the three projects totaled a staggering 197 million streams globally. As expected, the heavily anticipated flagship LP ICEMAN did the heavy lifting, pulling in 140.2 million streams on its own. The massive numbers instantly crowned ICEMAN as the biggest album debut of 2026 on Global Spotify, reclaiming the crown for the rapper. Meanwhile, Maid of Honour opened with 29.1 million streams, and Habibti followed closely behind with 27.7 million.
Beyond dominating the album charts, Drake’s individual tracks are also pulling astronomical numbers. ICEMAN‘s opening track, “Make Them Cry,” debuted at No. 1 on Global Spotify with an incredible 13.219 million streams in a single day, while also storming to the top of US Spotify with nearly 6 million domestic plays.
Most notably, the massive opening for “Make Them Cry” allowed Drake to officially shatter the record for the biggest single-day Spotify streaming total for a hip-hop song. The previous record was famously held by his fierce rival, Kendrick Lamar, for his explosive chart-topping diss track “Not Like Us.”
With all three albums simultaneously surging and global streaming records already falling, the latest chapter of Drake’s reign is off to a blockbuster start. As ICEMAN, Maid of Honour, and Habibti continue to dominate across both Spotify and Apple Music, it is clear that “Drake season” has officially returned in full force.
On May 15th, Drake became Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2026 in a single day, ICEMAN became the most-streamed album of 2026 in a single day, and "Make Them Cry" became the most-streamed song in a single day in 2026 so far. pic.twitter.com/bTVdDkAef3
