Harajuku vintage store PORTRATION is set to host “It’s in The Mix,” an exclusive pop-up event showcasing the expansive personal archive of DJ, visual artist, and JOOPITER Head Curator Jules Gayton.
Running for two days, the event will feature over 100 items Gayton has accumulated throughout his travels across London, New York, Hawaii, and Tokyo. Spanning from the 1980s to the early 2000s, the selection reflects his deep immersion in global subcultures. Visitors can expect to find graphic tees related to New York icons like Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Tommy Boy Records, alongside UK-centric pieces nodding to Massive Attack, Portishead, and Mo’ Wax. The 90s Tokyo street scene will also be represented through items from Major Force, Electric Cottage, Good Enough, and NOWHERE.
Beyond graphic tees, the pop-up will offer jackets, shirts, caps, beanies, sunglasses, and record-related items. Notable fashion artifacts slated for the event include a 1995 Supreme Box Logo Tee, a 1986 COMME des GARÇONS Staff Coat, Phillies Blunt gear by GFS (Gerb Futura Stash), and highly coveted pieces distributed exclusively to original members of the International Stüssy Tribe. Gayton himself is scheduled to be present during the event, offering attendees the opportunity to hear the stories and context behind his curated collection.
The Jules Gayton Archives at PORTRATION: “It’s in The Mix” will take place on April 18 and April 19, 2026 at PORTRATION in Tokyo.
