Universal Pictures and the Daniels have officially tapped Ryan Gosling to star in their upcoming untitled event film. According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning directorial duo—comprised of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert—are preparing to make their highly anticipated return to the big screen alongside the Hollywood superstar with the heavily shrouded cinematic project.

Following the massive global and awards-season success of their 2022 breakout hit Everything Everywhere All at Once, the Daniels have spent the last few years quietly developing their next major narrative. While specific plot details, genres, and character descriptions remain strictly under wraps, the untitled feature represents a massive collaborative milestone. Gosling joins the secret film fresh off the record-breaking box office debut of his recent sci-fi adaptation Project Hail Mary, continuing a prominent career hot streak.

The upcoming film will be produced by Kwan, Scheinert, and Jonathan Wang under their Playgrounds banner as part of an overall development deal with Universal Pictures. With the lead star officially locked in, the production team is reportedly preparing to begin shooting the event film this summer in Los Angeles. Aiming for the late-year prestige corridor, the shrouded project has secured a firm theatrical premiere timeline.

The untitled Daniels film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 19, 2027.
