For HYKE‘s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, design duo Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode present a sleek and chic wardrobe that drew inspiration from vintage uniforms and workwear. Archival aesthetics and utilitarian codes are reinterpreted and transformed with exaggerated proportions, cropped lengths and sharp tailoring that exude modern appeal. The overarching mood balances utilitarian rigor with feminine refinement, all culminating in a seasonal range that felt both disciplined and understatedly experimental.
Key pieces in the collection anchor its utilitarian yet refined spirit, featuring overcoats inspired by vintage Desert Storm coats and flight jackets such as the A-2 and the CWU-45/P. A significant highlight of the season is a new collaboration with the American brand Eddie Bauer, which introduces iconic down-filled styles, including the Skyliner Jacket, Kara Koram Parka and Canadian Vest.
Tailoring remains a focal point, characterized by elongated jackets with meticulous pick-stitching and boxy, cropped button-down shirts paired with either lean pencil skirts or extra-wide trousers that pool at the feet. Texture is added through black and white Nordic sweaters embellished with loopy fringe and sheer ruffled trims, while detachable functional liners emphasize the brand’s focus on reversible versatility.
Materiality ranged from wool and alpaca to faux shearling, leather and chambray, while the overall palette leaned on black, gray and khaki, with the occasional feature of red, blue and white. Accessories expanded the narrative with cotton canvas mini totes, drawstring bags inspired by U.S. Army personal effects, and puff loafers in technical fabrics. Jewelry by END CUSTOM JEWELLERS and eyewear from EYEVAN added subtle detailing, with metallic frames and clear finishes complementing the collection’s utilitarian yet polished aesthetic.
