Ferrari is bringing open-air driving to its latest grand tourer with the official reveal of the Ferrari Amalfi Spider. Arriving as the successor to the Roma Spider, the new front-mid-engined convertible delivers the sleek styling of its coupe counterpart while introducing a highly engineered soft-top roof.
The Amalfi Spider maintains the elegant, muscular bodywork of the coupe while making key aerodynamic and structural adjustments. The five-layer acoustic fabric roof is designed to mimic the thermal and sound-deadening properties of a hardtop, retracting in just 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph. To maximize luggage capacity, the top measures only 8.7 inches thick when folded down. For elevated comfort during open-air driving, an integrated wind deflector deploys from the vestigial rear seats at the push of a button. A newly introduced exterior paint hue, Rosso Tramonto, directly nods to the vibrant orange glow of a setting sun.
Under the hood, the drop-top is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine producing 631 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. Routed through an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle to the rear wheels, the setup pushes the convertible from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds. Inside the cabin, Ferrari notably abandons haptic touch controls in favor of real, physical buttons on the steering wheel, returning to an aluminum push-to-start mechanism. The updated dashboard positions the infotainment screen lower, keeping the driver’s focus squarely on the road ahead while retaining an aggressive active rear wing for optimized performance.
The Ferrari Amalfi Spider is expected to be released in 2027.
