Blizzard Entertainment has officially released Diablo II: Resurrected: Reign of the Warlock, a massive content update that brings the first new playable class to the game in 25 years. Available now, the expansion invites players to master forbidden arts and face new hellish challenges.
The update centers on the Warlock, a dark scholar capable of binding demons and wielding “Eldritch” and “Chaos” magic. The class features three distinct skill trees, allowing players to enslave foes like Goatmen and Tainted Defilers, or rain apocalyptic fire from a distance. Uniquely, the Warlock possesses a passive ability to levitate weapons, enabling the simultaneous use of two-handed melee weapons and off-hand items. To complement the new class, Blizzard has introduced “Grimoires,” a new off-hand item type that boosts elemental damage.
Beyond the new hero, the expansion significantly overhauls the endgame. Terror Zones now rotate every 30 minutes, offering faster-paced farming loops. Players can also hunt “Heralds of Terror” to collect statues that unlock the “Colossal Ancients,” a new pinnacle boss encounter. The update also integrates highly requested quality-of-life features, including a customizable in-game Loot Filter and “Advanced Stash Tabs” that finally allow for stacking gems and runes.
