For the YOKE Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled “BEYOND FORM,” designer Norio Terada presented a serene yet avant-garde vision during Paris Fashion Week. Drawing deep inspiration from the surrealist work of Jean Arp, the garments serve as a poetic bridge between fine art and contemporary daily wear. Terada, whose brand name refers to the tailoring component that connects and bonds, continues to explore the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and creative expression.
The season prioritizes organic silhouettes, intentionally moving away from rigid lines in favor of curves and “accidental beauty.” Classic tailoring is reimagined with a subtle roundness, while structured trench coats feature internal wiring that allows the wearer to reshape the garment’s form at will. This spirit of experimentation is further emphasized through glen check coats that utilize bonding techniques to capture the appearance of spontaneously draped fabric.
Expanding the sensory experience beyond the runway, Terada placed handcrafted ceramics – created by the designer himself – on the seats of the show venue. These pieces invited guests to touch the same organic curves that defined the clothing, fostering a tactile connection between the viewer and the material. Through collaborations with Tsuchiya Kaban and foot the coacher, YOKE introduces a subtle sense of “unease” into familiar silhouettes. The result is a collection that remains rooted in Japanese craftsmanship while pushing the boundaries of global menswear.
