Starbucks Japan Unveils Exclusive “Caramel Melts” Popcorn Frappuccino
The dessert-like beverage is available only at a single location in Tokyo.
Summary
- Starbucks Japan introduces the “Caramel Melts Frappuccino” featuring espresso-infused popcorn
- The release is exclusive to the Starbucks Reserve Cafe in the Shinjuku Marui department store
- A hot “Caramel Melts Latte” and “Opera Frappuccino” accompany the limited-time drop
Starbucks Japan is elevating its limited-edition menu with a textural twist, launching the “Caramel Melts Frappuccino” exclusively at its specialized Reserve Cafe in Shinjuku. Deviating from standard syrup-based flavorings, this new offering integrates actual food elements directly into the beverage, positioning espresso-soaked popcorn as the central component of the drink.
The “Caramel Melts Frappuccino” is designed to mimic a layered dessert. At the base, caramel popcorn is steeped in espresso, creating a unique “coffee experience” that blends the crunch of the snack with the depth of the roast. The build is topped with popcorn-flavored whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a salted pretzel, offering a complex interplay of sweet and salty notes.
For those preferring a hot option, the collection includes the “Caramel Melts Latte.” This variation utilizes a fragrant popcorn-flavored latte base, finished with the same signature whipped cream, caramel sauce, cinnamon, and a salted pretzel. The location is also serving a “Starbucks Reserve Opera Frappuccino,” an opera cake-inspired drink made with almond milk, espresso, and rich chocolate sauce.
The “Caramel Melts” collection is available now exclusively at the Starbucks Reserve Cafe on the second floor of the Shinjuku Marui Main Building in Tokyo.
