The Magliano Spring/Summer 2026 collection was recently unveiled at Milan Fashion Week, presented in a unique nighttime video format aboard a ferry boat. Directed by Thomas Hardiman, with music by Federico Chiari, the unconventional setting perfectly reflected the collection’s theme of a “sabbatical moment.” Drawing inspiration from temporary living and poetic camping, the collection offers a raw yet thoughtful take on transience and wear.
Designer Luca Magliano translated this concept into fashion by repurposing everyday elements — like ropes and hooks —into fastenings and accessories. He explores the contrast between polyester and cotton, using both materials to craft garments shaped like wearable shelters. Worn-out backpacks were reimagined with visible signs of use, evoking the romantic impermanence and resourcefulness found in camping and nomadic living. There’s also a lean towards raw hems, natural dyes, and materials that evolve with wear, emphasizing authenticity over distressed aesthetics.
The collection is built around loose, fluid silhouettes, reinterpreting everyday clothing through a mature yet experimental lens. With bold yet muted color palettes, textural contrasts, and stringy embellishments, the garments add depth and tactile intrigue. From meticulous detailing to functional design, the line even includes a standout footwear offering.
Notable pieces include 1900 inspired laced “Titanic boots” , classic safety shoes, sparkling and functional soccer sneakers created in collaboration with Beja, and crocheted ballerina flats that bring a modern, urban edge to traditionally soft forms. Through this collection, Magliano masterfully redefines menswear with poetic utility and emotional depth — delivering a vision that feels both grounded and quietly radical.
