Summary

  • LeBron James took to Instagram to show off Bryce James prom ensemble which featured the rare Cartier Crash Skeleton in pink gold as a final touch
  • The distinctive watch features an openworked dial and could retail between $80,000 to $250, 000 USD
  • The Crash was initially introduced to the market in 1967

Bryce James, son of LeBron James, made headlines at his 2025 prom not too long ago for his stylish ensemble, but for the extraordinary timepiece gracing his wrist: a Cartier Crash Skeleton.

The distinctive and rare watch immediately garnered attention from watch enthusiasts and fashion commentators alike. The Cartier Crash is already an iconic and highly coveted model, known for its surreal, warped case design reportedly inspired by a damaged Cartier Baignoire watch. The “Skeleton” version elevates this rarity, featuring a completely openworked dial that reveals the intricate mechanical movement beneath, with the bridges themselves often forming the Roman numerals.

The 17-year-old’s specific watch looks to be the Cartier Crash Skeleton in pink gold, a limited edition piece that is extremely difficult to acquire and carries a significant value (with some versions reportedly approaching or exceeding $900,000). The Crash appears to be the 2016 re-introduction of the Crash which was first introduced be 1967. The Crash features a caliber 9618 MC with an overall pink gold case of 28.15mm x 45.32mm.

The watch complemented Bryce’s sleek, all-black tailored Louis Vuitton tuxedo suit. The family showed up to share in the moment with Bryce with LeBron James also wearing a Louis Vuitton piece to celebrate. LeBron took to Instagram to showcase Bryce’s full ensemble, as well as the moment when he helped Bryce wear the watch to complete the formal look.
