Ralph Lauren’s Rare Yellow Ferrari F50 Heads to Auction
One of only two U.S.-specs to be finished in the vibrant Giallo Modena.

One of the rarest Ferrari F50s — once owned by fashion icon Ralph Lauren — is now set to go under the hammer. It’s notably one of only two U.S.-spec F50s painted in this striking Giallo Modena yellow, making it a uniquely special example of Ferrari’s 50th-anniversary hypercar.
Lauren ordered the car new and kept it in his collection for eight years before it changed hands in 2003. Since then, it has remained with the same private owners for more than two decades. With fewer than 5,400 miles on the odometer, this F50 has lived a remarkably private life and hasn’t been seen in public since 2009.
It rides on a Formula 1-inspired carbon fiber chassis and is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7L V12 derived from Ferrari’s 1992 F1 engine. The F50 produces 513 hp and reaches a top speed of 202 mph. Its removable targa top and analog driving feel deliver one of the most visceral Ferrari experiences ever made for the road.
The car is certified by Ferrari Classiche and was freshly serviced in late 2024, including new tires, a fuel bladder and brakes. It comes with full documentation and a clean, “no-stories” history.
Bidding for this highly desirable F50 — estimated to fetch as much as $7,000,000 USD — will take place during RM Sotheby’s upcoming Monterey auction on August 15.
