In the heart of Metz’s vibrant Amphithéâtre district, Maison Heler stands as a visionary hotel where literature, surrealism and hospitality come together. Conceived by renowned designer Philippe Starck, this architectural marvel is the first hotel born from a poetic narrative. With 104 rooms and suites, two restaurants, two bars and dedicated event spaces, Maison Heler is more than a hotel – it’s an immersive journey into imagination.

Inspired by The Meticulous Life of Manfred Heler, a book envisioned by Starck, the hotel brings to life the story of Manfred, an inventive man whose Lorraine home mysteriously lifts into the sky. This surreal vision is reflected in Maison Heler’s design, a striking nine-story monolith crowned with a traditional Metz mansion.

Spanning seven floors, the hotel’s 104 rooms and suites embrace refined minimalism. Starck’s philosophy of “functional elegance” is evident in the blend of marble panels, plush carpets and warm natural leathers. Thoughtfully placed details – ancient coins, poetic inscriptions and secret alphabets – invite guests into Manfred’s world of discovery.

At the heart of Maison Heler is La Cuisine de Rose, a brasserie inspired by Manfred’s idealized love. Soft pink hues and elegant dark furnishings create a warm, intimate atmosphere. La Maison de Manfred also offers a breathtaking dining experience reminiscent of a cherished family home. Overlooking Metz, the space is adorned with rich natural wood, embossed leather and a spectacular stained-glass window by Ara Starck, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the skyline.
