In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, Japanese lifestyle shop Cul De Sac has teamed up with Medicom‘s BE@RBRICK and the craftspeople at Karimoku Furniture to craft a special edition of Medicom’s iconic toy.

Expertly shaped by at Karimoku’s Japanese workshops, the bears are made from use of solid wood cut from Hiba Cypress logs, enhancing the aromatic qualities of the wood that the Aomori Prefecture is known for. Due to the technicalities of using solid logs, the product took approximately three years to develop. The clean surface, which boasts a woodgrain facilitated by the Northern climate, is finished with fragrant Hiba oil, which also comes in a small container for reapplication.

The unadorned, unstained character of the wooden BE@RBRICK highlights the meticulous design process and sensory appreciation rather than loud designs or visible logo. Verging on the line of homeware and toys, the collectible piece is offers a design-friendly addition to the Medicom Toy line.

Medicom’s Cul de Sac Japon x Karimoku Furniture BE@RBRICK is set for release on May 1, 2025 at Medicom Toy stores, online stores and Cul de Sac-JAPON official stores.
