The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Picasso for Asia — A Conversation offers a fresh perspective on the legacy of Pablo Picasso through an innovative cross-cultural exhibition. More than 60 masterpieces by Picasso, on loan from Musée National Picasso-Paris (MnPP), will be displayed alongside around 130 works by 30 Asian and Asian-diasporic artists from the M+ Collections. Spanning the early 20th century to the present, this showcase creates a dialogue that explores connections and contrasts across generations and regions.

Co-organized by M+ and MnPP, the exhibition is part of the French May Arts Festival 2025 and is supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Marking the first major exhibition of Picasso in Hong Kong in over a decade, the event highlights an unprecedented collaboration between the renowned European artist and contemporary Asian creators. By intertwining their artistic legacies, it fosters a deeper understanding of cultural and historical influences in art.

Featured works from MnPP include iconic pieces such as “The Acrobat (1930)”, “Figures by the Sea (1931),” “Large Still Life with Pedestal Table (1931),” “Portrait of Dora Maar (1937)” and “Massacre in Korea (1951).” Complementing these are creations from M+ Collections by distinguished artists like Isamu Noguchi, Luis Chan, Nalini Malani and Haegue Yang. The exhibition also introduces new commissions by Simon Fujiwara and Sin Wai Kin, further enriching this artistic dialogue.

Running until July 13, 2025, the exhibition serves as a platform for meaningful cross-cultural exchanges and celebrates the enduring influence of Picasso’s artistic vision. Tickets for The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Picasso for Asia — A Conversation are available via M+’s official website.
