Kendrick Lamar's Comedy Film With 'South Park' Creators Delayed to 2026
The untitled project was originally scheduled for a July 2025 release.
The release date for Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming film with the South Park creators has officially been delayed.
Variety reports that Paramount made the announcement ahead of CinemaCon, with the untitled comedy now premiering on March 20, 2026 instead of its original release date of July 4, 2025. The postponement is attributed to Dot’s upcoming Grand National Tour with SZA, which kicks off this April in North America and will run until Summer 2025 in Europe.
Additional details for the movie remain under wraps, with the exception of a rumored plot that supposedly follows a young Black man who takes on an internship at a living history museum as a slave re-enactor.
Vernon Chatman will write the script while Lamar, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker and pgLang’s Dave free will produce.
