AAPE’s Spring/Summer 2025 Men’s and Women’s Collections Are Bringing the ‘90s Back
Throwing it back, the streetwear brand debuted a range of pieces informed by youth subcultures, from hip-hop to the Western cowboy craze.

AAPE’s streetwear consistently echoes the current tides of youth culture, which is heavily iterative and influenced by past iconic eras as today’s “cool kids” look to the past to build the future of fashion. For the label’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 collections, the brand explored nostalgic themes that revive throwback trends and silhouettes.
Though each range is infused with nods to the past and the rebellious attitude of the next generation, the collections are split into men’s and women’s offerings. The men’s offerings dip into three distinct thematic categories that take us back to the street style of the ‘90s — from Y2K elements to relaxed, free-flowing hip-hop-inspired fits.
AAPE Men’s Spring/Summer collection
One of the themes that the AAPE Men’s Spring/Summer collection played upon was AAPE College, reinterpreting classic collegiate styles through a modern, new vintage lens. The color palette is strikingly retro, showing off pink, mustard yellow, and green tones. Design elements like school emblems or collegiate team logos give that rustic, worn-in feel to pieces like knit jackets, shorts, polos and t-shirts; modern additions like the MOON FACE AAPE logo and rich hand-drawn prints bring the pieces into the current style zeitgeist.
The AAPE SKATE channels the rebellious energy of 90s American youth culture, blending street skating and graffiti art with retro and Y2K influences. Bold designs feature vibrant hues like electric blue, olive green, and light-washed denim, embodying youthful dynamism. Key elements include graffiti-sprayed camouflage prints, digital denim effects on hooded coveralls, and mesh jerseys paired with military-style shorts. The lineup merges retro nostalgia with futuristic Y2K aesthetics, emphasizing freedom, rebellion, and a playful streetwear edge.
The AAPE HIP-HOP also drew inspiration from ‘90s American skate films and hip-hop culture, continuing to pay homage to impactful eras of fashion’s past. The interconnection of street skating and graffiti influences the collection with a classic camouflage print and a spray paint effect. Mesh cut jerseys, camo military style shorts, ‘90s Western-informed rugged denim and wide-leg jeans all come in vibrant colors that showcase the disruptive expression of the millennium era.
AAPE Women’s Spring/Summer collection
These stylish elements carried over to the women’s pieces, showcasing new designs focused on the laidback, vacation vibe of Los Angeles and the hip-hop culture that permeates the city. LA is honored through golden-hour-inspired hues from pastel pink to light yellow. Palm trees and tranquil sunsets were the foundation for many prints in this collection too, like a primate camouflage featuring sunset gradient effects and multicolored stripes. Casual offerings include digital printed t-shirts, baseball jackets, sleeveless vests, terry cloth sets and polo collar jacquard sweaters.
These looks are juxtaposed with the hip-hop-inspired women’s pieces, which show off richer colors — military greens, deep blues, and khaki — and more utilitarian styles. Nostalgia comes into play again as dated denim elements resurface into the mainstream, such as enzyme treatments or spray dyeing. The spirit of the American West, heavily intertwined with hip-hop culture, shines through with cowgirl graphics, plaid prints and the use of pure cotton as well. Core pieces informed by this theme include parachute pants, pleated denim skirts, work jackets, DIY patchwork t-shirts and more.
Tap into the upcoming season’s offerings to refresh your wardrobe with a nostalgic twist. Both the AAPE Men’s and Women’s Spring/Summer 2025 collections are now available in AAPE stores worldwide.
