Grand Seiko Presents a Trio of Cherry Blossoms-Inspired Time-Tellers
Introducing two “Sakura-Kakushi” references and one “Sakura-Tukiyo” variant.
Gearing up for spring, Grand Seiko has revealed three new additions to its Heritage Collection. Drawing inspiration from the seasonal cherry blossoms, the lineup consists of two “Sakura-Kakushi” dialed references alongside a “Sakura-Tukiyo” variant.
Leading the release is the SBGH368 “Sakura-Kakushi” crafted in 18k rose gold with a case size of 38mm. Priced at $31,200 USD, this non-limited edition reference features a warm pink dial that shines radiantly, representing the scene of snow-covered cherry blossoms, known as sakura-kakushi. Symbolizing the tree’s trunk, the timepiece is paired with a brown leather strap, which compliments the serene and elegant mood of the dial. Inside, the Hi-Beat 9S85 movement ensures stable precision by reducing variations in accuracy, while offering a power reserve of 55 hours.
As for the STGK031 “Sakura-Kakushi” and the STGK033 “Sakura-Tukiyo,” both wristwatches arrive in a 30mm case diameter and a stainless steel build. Retailing at $6,400 USD, these new models retain the distinctive bezel-free construction of the original, allowing seamless integration of the crystal with the case and feature dials that evoke the beauty of cherry blossoms in early spring.
STGK031’s dial is doused in a soft silvery pink, mimicking the frosted cherry blossoms as seen in Japan’s Tohoku region during spring. Meanwhile, STGK033 showcases a champagne-gold dial inspired by cherry blossoms basking in the light of a full moon. Both watches are powered by the brand’s smallest automatic mechanical movement, the 9S27 caliber, making them the slimmest automatic Grand Seiko timepieces to date.
