Following her well-received adidas Originals collection last November, Caroline Hu returns with a fresh trio of silk-covered Samba designs.
Hu’s latest interpretation reimagines the football-turned-lifestyle sneaker with luxurious layers of gathered silk. This “soft shell” aesthetic showcases intricate gatherings, adding a delicate yet bold touch.
The Silk Sambas are available in “Power Red,” “Dark Blue” and “Silver Metallic.” The red and silver colorways feature off-white Three Stripes, while the blue iteration sports sharp metallic stripes. The structured leather stripes contrast with the flowing silk frills, adding balance to the design. While the red and blue versions maintain their dominant color themes throughout the sockliner and laces, the silver iteration contrasts with a white heel and laces, subtly offsetting the shimmering metallic silk.
Though this release is more understated than her past work on the Reverie and Superstar, the artisanal craftsmanship remains unmistakable. A standout element is Hu’s name stamped onto the tag on the tongue, adding a personal signature to the design.
