Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM), the joint venture formed by Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Company in 2022, is bridging the gap between high-end gaming and automotive innovation. The company has announced the integration of PS Remote Play into the AFEELA, its forthcoming battery-electric vehicle.
In a world-first for the industry, this integration allows users to stream PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 games directly from their home consoles to the AFEELA’s cabin. Leveraging the vehicle’s advanced In-Vehicle Infotainment system, passengers can access their entire gaming library through the car’s expansive integrated displays and premium audio setup.
According to Izumi Kawanishi, Representative Director, President and COO of SHM, “The introduction of PS Remote Play embodies AFEELA’s vision for mobility: transforming the traveling space into a captivating and emotional one.” This feature is designed to significantly enhance the transit experience, whether by entertaining passengers during long journeys or occupying the driver during a charging stop.
As SHM prepares for the future of mobility, the AFEELA 1 is slated to be the brand’s inaugural production model. The first deliveries of the AFEELA 1 are expected to arrive in California in 2026, marking a new era where the driveway becomes an extension of the living room.
