The new Song for the Mute apparel capsule, titled “TOWARD KINDRED LIGHT,” is a collaborative project created with designer Dev Alexander, revisiting and refining silhouettes originally developed for The Kid LAROI‘s touring wardrobe. The collection marks a conceptual conversation between the Sydney-based brand and Alexander, channeling a quiet sense of imperfection through contrasting textural overlays and fabrics designed to look deliberately worn-in.
The capsule centers around three key apparel silhouettes, with the most notable piece being the Hooded Denim Jacket, which innovatively reimagines the layered look of a standard denim jacket worn over a hoodie as a single hybrid garment. Complementing this is the Denim Wide Leg Pant, a fundamental silhouette established in the brand’s main collections. The final piece is the Oversized Jersey Tee, which is crafted from a heavyweight Japanese jersey material selected for its ability to hold structure and form, creating a strong, distinct silhouette. Every piece in the collection is available in a choice of three neutral colors: khaki, black or white.
The campaign supporting the capsule, directed by Cai Fox Leplaw, visually unfolds across quiet, open spaces with charged tension, revealing the collection through shifting gestures and lingering pauses. Priced range from $395 – $1,595 AUD (approx $263 – $1,064 USD), the “TOWARD KINDRED LIGHT” collection is currently available through Song for the Mute’s official online store and select stockists.
