Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance have unveiled their latest collaborative effort, marking a second sophisticated take on the Made in UK 991. Moving beyond footwear, the launch also includes a focused capsule collection that draws heavy inspiration from performance-driven boating and the high-contrast aesthetic of 1990s marine culture.
The footwear capsule features two 991 colorways: “Celery” and “Chocolate.” The “Celery” version combines a grey mesh base with red leather underlays, accented by olive-green and brown suede overlays. The “Chocolate” pair, first seen in the brand’s Fall/Winter 25 lookbook, is built with a white leather base, red leather underlays and dark brown suede overlays, finished with contrasting black details on the midsole.
Meanwhile, the apparel reflects a utilitarian spirit through specialized fabrications. Key pieces include nylon Sailing Jackets and Pants, alongside fleece Half Zip Pullovers, all rendered in striking Aura Orange and Jet Black. The collection is further elevated by slub knit Rugby shirts and open-stitch Signal Crewneck Sweaters featuring nautical branding.
To capture the essence of the release, a campaign film follows a journey of nautical exploration along the Oslo Fjord, crossing between Norway and Sweden. This visual narrative highlights the collection’s ability to withstand harsh winter conditions on the water.
