Update: Salehe Bembury has launched the second pair of his collaborative New Balance 1000 series, the “Fog Be The Cloud,” following the initial September release.
This iteration features a vibrant, multi-colored upper that shifts like a rainbow through teals, pinks, and bright oranges. This eye-catching upper sits atop a brightly painted citrus-orange midsole, complemented by a soft grey toe-cap at the forefoot for subtle color contrast. The inclusion of a cork insole maintains Salehe’s signature emphasis on comfort and natural materials.

Original Story: There’s no slowing down Salehe Bembury. The designer’s collaborative conquest has prompted a new chapter, with a mid-career retrospective with Rizzoli, Salehe Bembury: I Make Shoes, releasing later this year. On top of this, he has his own footwear brand launching soon.
However, before these two milestones are reached, he’s likely to present his next campaign with New Balance. Two takes on the New Balance 1000 were teased by Bembury in May. Since then, a complete preview of the teal “Fog Be The Cloud” pair has surfaced. Now, a better look at what to expect from its pink and orange partner has been shared. This version of the shoe sees a gradient applied to the mixed material upper, transitioning from blue at the forefoot to pink and red. Orange strikes the midsole and lace loops while off-white notes are included at the toe and tongue.
At the time of writing, neither Salehe Bembury nor New Balance have indicated when their upcoming project involving the 1000 sneaker will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates, including a complete look at this colorful version of the shoe, as we expect it to drop later this year, likely around the shoe’s typical $150 USD price point.
