Staff Picks: Epic LEGO® Star Wars™ Sets to Gift (or Keep) This Holiday
The most display-worthy builds, from Grogu’s Hover Pram to Jango Fett’s Helmet and the 9,000-piece Death Star.
The holidays have arrived, and with them comes the perfect excuse to tap into some galactic world building with bricks. This year, our HYPEBEAST staff picks spotlight the LEGO® Star Wars™ collection, a series that turns iconic moments from the saga into modern-day display pieces. Highlights like the Brick-Built Star Wars Logo, Jango Fett’s Helmet and the Death Star (featuring the most pieces in a LEGO set to date) go beyond play, they celebrate form, storytelling and cultural memory. Each set feels both familiar and reimagined, crafted for fans who appreciate the art of building as much as the stories behind it. Consider this your guide to gifting with imagination and just the right touch of hype.
The Mandalorian, featuring Pedro Pascal, is one of the better spin-off series to live within the Star Wars universe. The true star of the show is Grogu (endearingly referred to as Baby Yoda), a sweet yet immensely powerful alien species with deep connections to the Force. For fans of the series, Grogu is charming, endearing, a cookie lover, and a wondrous spirit who convinces an entire resistance group to travel across the galaxy and fight against the sinister ploys of the Imperials. A Jedi and Mandalorian in training — the mischievous Grogu is a force with whom to be reckoned. “This is the way,” and this is the set die-hard Star Wars fans need in their life.

The “STAR WARS” logo is as iconic as they come. I remember watching the intro for Episode IV: A New Hope for the first time and having this typeface imprinted in my brain forever. It may not be a starfighter, a droid or Grogu but this LEGO Star Wars Set is really where design fandom meets movie fandom. I like it for the fact that, once built, it fully stands out in any home space. The yellow is just easily recognizable also and blends seamlessly displayed next to other decorative home pieces. Ultimately, this one just feels nostalgic and timeless, and a great gift for anyone who loves logo design, Star Wars and kitschy home decor.

When it comes to LEGO, every set tells a story, and with Star Wars, that storytelling hits on another level. As a lifelong fan of the galaxy far, far away, I’ve always loved Anakin Skywalker’s yellow Jedi Interceptor from Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. So when Ahsoka Tano debuted her own red version in The Clone Wars, it felt like seeing an old favorite reborn. Now, that same ship has landed in LEGO form, complete with Ahsoka, Anakin and her loyal droid R7-A7. Whether built for play or proudly displayed, this set perfectly captures the thrill and nostalgia of the saga.

Chopper (C1-10P)™ Astromech Droid
C1-10P, aka Chopper, is the king of mischief. We were first introduced to the defiant droid in Star Wars Rebels, with him serving as a key crew member on the Ghost. While the astromech has appeared as a LEGO minifigure many times over the years, he now stands taller than ever as a buildable figure (over 8.5 inches to be exact!). Not only does this faithful recreation of the beloved droid look great on display, but he’s packed with functional features too. From his playful head gestures to his mechanical arms and roller leg, Chopper is one-of-a-kind as both a character and LEGO set.

I’ve always been a huge Boba Fett fan, and anything Mandalorian instantly grabs my attention, so getting the LEGO Jango Fett Helmet was a no-brainer. The design captures everything iconic about Jango’s armor, from the clean silver-blue finish to the range-finder. Building it was genuinely relaxing, and now that it’s done, it looks incredible on my shelf. I’ve always admired Jango’s place in Star Wars lore as the original template for the clone army and the man who started the Fett legacy, so this was a must have.

The first time I ever saw the Slave 1 in Attack of the Clones, I thought to myself, this is probably the coolest ship in the entire series. This set is a must have for Star Wars fans, it’s got that instantly recognizable silhouette while drawing pure nostalgia from the prequels to the original trilogy. But let’s be real, the main draw is the sheer coolness factor of its weapon systems. Seriously, is there any sound more satisfying in all of Star Wars than the seismic charge?

I hadn’t even seen the original Star Wars when LEGO released its first Death Star set back in 2005, but I remember spotting it fully built at a local store and being completely mesmerized. It wasn’t just a toy; it felt like a world captured in miniature, every scene alive within those gray walls. Nearly twenty years later, I still don’t have the space (no pun intended) to display one at home, but the feeling hasn’t faded. There’s something about that set — its scale, its story, its legacy — that still whispers, “One day…”
