The Paramount film from Kendrick Lamar, Dave Free and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone has been delayed indefinitely.
Variety reports that Paramount has pulled the upcoming live-action comedy from its original March 20, 2026 premiere date with no new date. In a joint statement from Stone and Parker’s Park County and Dot and Free’s pgLang, they shared, “It’s true – we’re moving (again). We’re working hard at finishing the movie.”
No additional information, including any semblance of a plot or cast, have been announced as of writing.
The film was first announced in January 2022 with minimal details, only sharing that the live-action comedy “will depict the past and present coming to a head when a young black man who is interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.” It was initially scheduled for a July 2025 premiere date before being moved to March 2026.
