- Players create a custom Machine Hunter from Horizon tribes for co-op raids and PVP
Horizon Steel Frontiers is official. NCSOFT and Guerrilla unveiled a cross-platform MMO for mobile and PC.
The story shifts south to the Deadlands, a frontier inspired by Arizona and New Mexico. Thousands of players share the world, teaming up for hunts or clashing over resources. You play as a custom Machine Hunter. Deep character creation taps Horizon tribes like Nora, Tenakth, Utaru, and Oseram, with gear and style tuned to your role.
Its core loop is large-scale machine hunting. New systems include Pullcaster climbs onto damaged parts, trap setting for status effects, and picking up dropped machine weapons to stash on mounts. Mobile-first design meets PC support. Cross-platform play is part of the pitch, with raids and co-op missions built for quick sessions and longer grinds.
As the team puts it, “the thrill of taking down colossal machines” drives the experience. Guerrilla says the project preserves Horizon’s DNA while carving out its own identity. Expect familiar machine ecology and a fresh, melee-forward combat rhythm built for coordinated raids.
Stay tuned for a release date.
