Palace Skateboards is continuing its retail expansion in Japan with the opening of its third flagship, located in Fukuoka, on October 4. Designed by Steve Oh, the architect behind the Seoul flagship, the new store follows the Tokyo flagship and the Osaka store that opened in May.
Located in Fukuoka’s Daimyo district, the store draws inspiration from two of the city’s most iconic sites, the Fukuoka Castle ruins and the Reclining Buddha, reinterpreted through the brand’s unique DNA. The store’s design features an all-glass façade and a bronze Tri-Ferg logo embedded in the floor. The interior incorporates raw stone and black wood, reminiscent of the castle ruins, with Tri-Ferg shaped lighting illuminating the space. A monumental bulldog figure, re-imagined from the Reclining Buddha, serves as a central anchor.
To commemorate the opening, an exclusive collection will be available, featuring a wool varsity jacket, football jersey, and a variety of other apparel and accessories with special Fukuoka graphics.
Check out the space above. Palace Fukuoka opens its doors on October 4 at 11 a.m.
