Humble Is Back – Who Are They?
The Genesis Evans and Conor Prunty-founded skate label returns to the scene with its first drop in years, exclusively stocked at Supreme and Domicile Tokyo; the duo refreshed our memory on what the brand is all about.
Humble’s beginnings aren’t too humble; Genesis Evans – more commonly known as Genny – got his start skating over at Supreme, before teaming up with fellow New York skate Conor Prunty to create Humble.
However, initially launched in 2015, the brand has stayed true to its name in brand ethos and design approach, with a contagious down-to-earth demeanor dominating its palette of graphic outerwear.
Today, the Genny and Prunty-led label makes its triumphant return to the scene with its Fall/Winter 2025 relaunch, revelling in its authentically grounded roots to guide its comeback.
Genny and Prunty gave us a quick refresher on what the brand is all about.
For those who don’t know, who is Humble?
Connor: Humble is Genesis Evans and Conor Prunty.
Genny: A brand for humble folk.
How would you describe your brand’s core ethos or approach to design?
C: The brand has always been lighthearted. We haven’t shied away from color or cartoon-like imagery, but we try to present it in a sophisticated way.
G: We like making things we find cool, but Conor and I have always been into cartoons and animation, and I think that shows in our approach to things.
What does Humble bring to the streetwear/skatewear scene?
C: In our first run, I was proud of our videos and the music compilation project, but since we’re not making skate videos, we hope to add to the scene in other ways.
G: New swag.
What sets Humble apart?
C: The name and the logo.
G: Different swag.
Why was now the time for a revival?
G: It really just felt like it was time. We had to take time away from Humble to realize it, but I always felt like we barely began, and there’s much more for us to do. The brand has always gotten so much love, and everyone would ask about it.
C: Everyone wants a Humble t-shirt, so we had to make more. And Genny got me excited about doing the brand again; it’s been cool.
Tell me more about this specific graphic – how did it come to be, and what is the meaning behind it?
C: Our friend wouldn’t stop saying how humble he was as a joke, so I just drew it one night. Genny had already expressed wanting to start a brand or do something together, so that logo kinda started everything. Can’t say there’s an intended meaning, but it just looks… cute. There being one little flower matches the name, that’s it.
Why did you choose Liim to lead the lookbook?
G: Me, Liim, and Erika (who’s also in the lookbook) have been spending a lot of time in the studio this year working on music, so it just made sense. It’s a plus that they are both humble people. Shout out to my friend Sugar, too, who shot the photos; he is also very humble.
Humble’s Fall Winter 2025 collection drops at the brand’s website – and at Supreme and Domicile Tokyo – today, October 17, at 12 p.m EST.
