Blancpain has unveiled the Villeret “Golden Hour” chapter, which features three reinterpreted emblematic models across 16 new references, reaffirming the line’s dual heritage of mechanical excellence and design purity. The three core models are a 40mm automatic three-hand model with date, a 40mm complete calendar with moonphase and a 33.20 mm moonphase calendar. The collection is available in either 18-carat red gold or stainless steel cases, with the introduction of new, stunning autumnal dial shades. New dials introduce a finely grained opaline option alongside a golden‑brown sunburst, while interchangeable straps in brown, blue‑grey, honey and beige nubuck velvet employ a quick‑change system and a supple barolo finish that will develop a natural patina.
A subtly reinterpreted case refines proportions with a slimmer bezel, thinner profile, enlarged crown and redesigned lugs to improve elegance, comfort and ergonomics. Indexes and hands have been refreshed: Roman numerals are executed in 18 carat gold with satin‑brushed tops and polished bevels, the traditional “12” is replaced by the JB signature, and slender hands now carry luminescent inserts for improved night readability. The date window at 3 o’clock has been enlarged for greater visual harmony, and all moon phase models present an enlarged aperture that increases depth and presence.
Blancpain gives the moonphase a more expressive treatment with a ceramic disc and a domed, satin‑finished 18-carat gold moon bearing the Maison’s characteristic face, reinforcing the poetic lineage of its lunar complications. Complete calendars feature patented under‑lug correctors (2005), allowing safe, push‑button adjustment of calendar indications, while the smaller 33.20 mm models retain traditional caseband correctors.
Movements are automatic in‑house calibers finished to Haute Horlogerie standards – Côtes de Genève, beveling – and Blancpain now equips them with a new open‑worked oscillating weight in red or yellow gold with polished bevels to reveal and celebrate the movement’s decoration Technical and service updates accompany the aesthetic evolution: all movements are secured and now come with a five‑year warranty, underlining Blancpain’s commitment to mechanical excellence.
