Sacai Is Where the Wild Things Are for the FW25 Season
Bringing new Carhartt WIP, UGG and J.M. Weston collaborations to the forefront.
Chitose Abe invites you to take a walk on the wild side for sacai‘s Fall/Winter 2025 collection. Riffing off of the famous 1963 children’s novel by Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are, the Japanese designer explores marries wilderness themes with the very idea of living amongst unrestricted, untamed nature.
Leading the runway are new knit furs reminiscent of the Where the Wild Things Are characters. Taking inspiration from the furry monsters, the collection is a nod to the elemental and raw, bringing protection and comfort in the unpredictable climates and toughness of the outside world. Continuing to build on her signature hybridized silhouettes, Chitose Abe distorts familiar shapes, all while giving archetypical garments the utility makeover that is distinctive to sacai.
Abe revisits old collabs, adding to its repertoire of co-branded Carhartt WIP releases. Collaborative chore jackets have expanded to leather jackets and corduroy collared puffers in a deeper browns and pine green hues. Collars are purposely left raw and unfinished and a consistence use of layering oversized with a regular sized piece adds volume to the sacai silhouette. Sacai’s signature knitwear, down and a new leather is paired with Carhartt WIP’s classic washed canvas, while UGG is added to the mix as a new brand collaboration to bring the ultimate super furry boat with knee shearling to the forefront. Additional footwear collaborations see UGG slip ons. J.M. WESTON‘s wild cow pattern print also makes an appearance. Check out the collection above or below.
