LiAngelo Ball's Viral Song "Tweaker" Lands Him a Def Jam Recording Deal Worth up to $13 Million USD

LiAngelo Ball has officially signed a music deal with Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Group following his viral song “Tweaker.” According to ESPN, the former basketball player and middle brother of Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball has signed a deal with as much as $13 million USD, with $8 million USD guaranteed. LiAngelo is expected to have full ownership of music and his own record label.

His debut track “Tweaker” took the world by storm when it caught the attention of the Detroit Lions, Lil Yachty and NBA stars throughout the league. Going by the name G3 Gelo, the athlete turned rapper released the single through his family’s Born to Ball Music Group and is expected to drop a follow-up to “Tweaker” soon. Prior to “Tweaker,” LiAngelo was featured on Lonzo’s “BITF” with gained prominence in 2018. Rapping is not new to the Ball family as Lonzo also released “Zo2” to promote Big Baller Brand’s signature shoe. Due to the success of “Tweaker,” LiAngelo has now been signed on to perform at Rolling Loud California this March.

Kicking 2025 off with a bang, Lonzo has proclaimed for his brother that 2025 is the “year of G[elo].” According to Chart Data, the song has already entered the Spotify’s top 10 streaming chart in the U.S., surpassing the likes of Tyler, the Creator’s “Sticky” featuring GloRilla, Sexxy Red and Lil Wayne as well as Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off” featuring Lefty Gunplay. “Tweaker” already has over 1,398,725 plays on Spotify.
