From the director of ‘Saltburn.’
Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to star in the upcoming adaptation of the classic Emily Brontë novel, Wuthering Heights. A project from MRC and LuckyChap, the film scores an A-list pairing and marks LuckyChap and Emerald Fennell’s third collaboration together.
This upcoming feature film of the iconic romance novel by Brontë comes after LuckyChap also produced her recent black comedy psychological thriller Saltburn and Promising Young Woman, which won Fennell and Oscar. Robbie is slated to play Catherine Earnshaw while Elordi will star as Heathcliff. Fennell is writing, producing and directing the film which is set for pre-production in the U.K. in 2025.
The original novel by Brontë was published in 1850 and follows the story of two families, the Earnshaws and the Linton, as they go through a turbulent relationship they have with Earnshaws’ foster son, Heathcliff. Deadline confirms that at this moment, the plot details have not been revealed. The film reunites Elordi and Fennell who worked together on Saltburn. Robbie’s LuckyChap gained global success with not just Saltburn but Barbie.
