It’s Tuesday in Paris, and Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen is posted up in her quaint atelier. She’s hosting a model casting for her show, which is set to take place in less than 24 hours, while double-checking her sprawling tack board of Spring 2025 looks. She’s just come off the launch of her new ASICS GEL-TERRAIN (of which there are mountains in the basement for VIP pulls) and the first-ever women’s model of the ASICS Gel-Quantum 360 VIII, which met the world during Copenhagen Fashion Week last month. Today, though, she’s got an entirely new partnership up her blossoming sleeves: between the classic hyper-femme shapes on the designer’s clothing racks, The North Face’s logo is unmissable.

Bahnsen has teamed up with the outerwear giant for a gorpy ready-to-wear and accessories lineup punched with her flower-filled femininity. ”We decided from the beginning that we wanted to go extremely tech, so we took a very futuristic approach to our outerwear,” Bahnsen said. “These pieces have all of the utilitarian details — waterproofing, protective layers, durability — but they are still super feminine. We just got to really nerd out on what we love.”

Drawing inspiration from The North Face’s most-adored archival styles, the lineup includes a Mountain Dress decorated with dainty floral decals and pull tabs that can modify the design in myriad ways.”When you pull the flower tabs, you can create some volume and form the peplum shape that we have in a lot of our mainline designs,” Bahnsen explained. “I love that you can wear it that way, or you can tuck into your dress with something really poofy.”

Elsewhere, the collection includes long shorts, with Bahnsen’s floral iconography running down either side of the legs. “This is a custom treatment,” she said, pointing to the blossoms, “so each iteration of this design is unique.” The North Face’s classic Mountain Jacket also underwent Bahnsen’s knife, with a new ruching effect running across the shoulders and, of course, flowers all over. The Base Camp Duffel, the Base Camp Clutch and the chunky Glenclyffe hiking boot, all equipped with CB’s sculptural volumes, round out the range.

“I get a lot of my inspiration from the countryside in Denmark, so this all feels right at home,” Bahnsen concluded, gazing at the full collection. “Anyone can put these pieces on and make them their own because they allow your attitude, your energy and your personality to shine through.”

Take a first look at Cecilie Bahnsen’s The North Face collaboration in the gallery above, and keep a close eye on her runway, where The North Face’s climbers will be debuting the pieces this afternoon. The collection will launch online and in stories during the Spring 2025 season.
