Reese Cooper's New Outdoor Supply Label Wants to Ignite Your Inner Explorer
“This is stuff you’re supposed to get dirty, and most importantly, have fun while doing so,” said Cooper.
Three years ago, vintage Americana-inspired designer Reese Cooper, known for his utilitarian runways and for being the youngest-ever finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2019, began building his own outdoor line. Galvanized by the “beauty and inclusiveness of California’s outdoor culture,” where the Florida-born fashioner now resides, he sought to create products that complement the lifestyles and hobbies that he and his friends most enjoy: exploring nature’s bounty. Now, with support from Pacsun, the fruit of Cooper’s labor has finally sprouted: an all-new sub-label of expedition-ready outerwear under a newly minted banner, Reese Cooper Outdoor Supply.
“As someone who has always been in awe of the outdoors, especially living in California, I wanted this collection to be as accessible as possible like the environments it is inspired by,”
said Cooper. “Designed and influenced with my friends in mind, the ethos of RCOS is to create product that holds up in all environments, for any activity, whether that’s running around in the city or on a mountain.”

The brand’s debut collection features a wide range of styles, spanning taped-seam shell silhouettes, insulated outerwear and cargo pants constructed from nylon, sherpa fleece, waffle knit, heavyweight cotton and compression textiles. Cooper’s signature Hook appears throughout the collection, serving as the connector between this latest venture and the breakthrough namesake brand that earned the designer the coveted Forbes 30 Under 30 title. Elsewhere, graphic T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants acquaint the consumer with the imprint’s ‘RCOS” iconography, while custom rock pullers, zippers and speed belts remind them of the line’s natural mood board.
“These products are for any and everyone,” Cooper continued. “This is stuff you’re supposed to get dirty, and most importantly, have fun while doing so. When it comes to outdoor activities, l’m an enthusiast, not a professional. I strongly believe it’s important to explore new things, learn new places, get out of your comfort zone.”
Practicing what he preaches, Cooper set out on a six-day road trip along the Pacific Coast with a group of friends, including photographer Stefan Kohli, to shoot the collection’s campaign. The result, pictured above, is an honest depiction of Cooper’s goal with his Outdoor Supply label: to give you the tools to explore, no matter your level of expertise.
Reese Cooper Outdoor Supply is now available on the brand’s webstore and via select retailers, with sizes ranging from XXS to XXL. Additionally, the brand will be hosting a pop-up in Los Angeles at 1452 E 6th Street, where you can shop the brand’s first delivery from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 10 and 11.
