John Galliano, Rick Owens and Miuccia Prada Nominated For BFC Designer of the Year

The British Fashion Council has announced its list of nominees for its 2024 awards ceremony. Nominees for the most coveted award, Designer of the Year include Chemena Kamali for Chloé, John Galliano for Maison Margiela, Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson & LOEWE, Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu, Pieter Mulier for Alaïa, and Rick Owens for Rick Owens.

John Galliano’s work at Maison Margiela, notably his 2024 Artisanal Collection solidifies him as a standout. Chemena Kamali was nominated for her work at Chloé where she was appointed director less than a year ago. Jonathan Anderson and Miuccia Prada both had big years as LOEWE and Miu Miu continue to generate viral moments.

For the second biggest award, Model of the Year, Alex Consani, Anok Yai and Amelia Gray are among the nominees measured on the “global impact of a model, who, over the last 12 months, has dominated the industry.”

There are still more categories to be announced in November, including Special Recognition Awards, the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, Outstanding Achievement Award, Fashion Icon, and NEW WAVE: Creatives.

The 2024 Fashion Awards will occur on December 2 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where the winners will be announced. Take a look at the 2024 BFC nominees below.
